aw yeah. i ran it again and this time i was in control. yeah, it wasn't as fast as a road run, but it went. in the deep sand sections, it was 14min miles with my HR at 177, but most of it went just fine. i can handle this.
instead of turning left (west) i turned right, and found myself in a quieter beach area that included a public beach and a wildlife sanctuary behind it where the birds were alive instead of cockfighting casualties. puerto rico isn't the picturesque Caribbean but it is warm and on the ocean, so i can't complain. Reminds me a bit of Miami Beach... the contrasts between rich and poor hit hard. i was going to take my camera with on the run but worry about the dripping sweat humidity.
more 14 hour days, more convention buffet food. our members began arriving last night, which is good. they're the reason i do this. they're awesome people with awesome stories. after tonight, i'm halfway done. i miss my family. i can only imagine that Molly's convinced that my spot in bed is now hers to keep.

Good job on getting back out there and not letting the beach beat you.
Wow that sounds awesome. I have to try sometime at the north ave 'beach'
Girlie, hang in there. I am sorry your homesick tho - must suck bad. Good job on the beach run. For real.
