(photo: Ben) it's amazing how small a city can become. on an average day, i see the same 5 miles of sidewalk on my run, the same mile of sidewalk that i walk to work, and that's about it. the streets and sanitation crews that empty the street trash cans know me, and this week a group of three officers walking toward the police academy greeted Molly by name. when we're not running, people ask why.
i had to ride up to River North to drop some things off and ran into b14. we looked to the end of Erie street and saw some interesting greenery and went to check it out. there it was, park #511. that was its name. a little hidden riverfront patch of hilly grass with a bistro next to it and a small fenced in dog area. who knew it was there, under the Grand bridge? it was like a secret world of dogs and babies and posh rich people that we didn't even know was right under us.
last night, the ladies met up to see the Sex in the City movie. (yes, I cried at it. i always cry at weddings.) aside from being a giant blinking red flag that we're a little behind on our wedding planning, it was also a lure into that odd neighborhood just between Michigan Ave and Navy Pier. there's a Dominic's there, but who lives there? The drinks were overpriced and the crowds seemed like a mix of tourists and bro's. We laughed at a woman in stiletto heels and tight yellow jeans, holding a small dog trying to get a cab.
i need more excuses to get out and explore. if i'm not careful, my life exists in a 1 mile radius around the house. tiring.

I don't blame a group of cops-in-training to notice such a good looking pair every morning.
i think there NEEDS to be more lady outings. i had a great time, laughing, crying, bullshiting w everyone.

Julie - I got lost on the south side of chicago once with my friend. We were with friends at a jazz club and our friend from HS was playing there in a real cool jazz band. anyways, it was a fun time to explore chicago in the middle of the night!
another cool place i love in chicago - comedy clubs. Second city. :) I always go when I come up.
i didn't take you for a SATC fan at all. i have never seen one episode.
Oh, a ladies outing sounds like so much fun! I need some ladies to do an outing!
