I missed my first run of the plan yesterday, a 3mi pace run. I'm ok with that, since my 5 mi runs have basically been at pace, and since I ran 7 extra miles last week, so the balance was +4. Happens.
Worked the Fox River Grove crit yesterday. Talk about a brutal course. Basically, you climb up a ski hill (think Snake Alley only paved and longer) and then meander down it through a neighborhood. The fields were super small though- 14 1/2's, 5 1/2/3 women, only 49 4/5's. Why such a small field for a course so interesting and challenging? Who knows. But if you're a good climber, this should be on your schedule for next year.
Saturday's Tour de Fat was awesome. The 12 mi run in the morning made me a rather cheap date though, and after hours of volunteer beer pouring and then hours of drinking in the sun, Ben and I did nothing on Saturday night except sleep off the surlys.
