I fly home today, on the afternoon flight that gets in at a reasonable hour instead of the usual 6pm that gets in at midnight. I'm very, very glad to be headed home. This week brought two chickens home to roost for me: first, that I have little self-control, and second, that HOLY SHI+ I'M GETTING MARRIED.
Last night I purchased the gifts for the bridesmaids and then went back to doing what a bored girl with little self-control on the strip in vegas does. I swiftly lost $30 playing pai gow poker and then switched to the video poker, where I won much of it back.
I've been trying to keep myself on central time through all this - getting in bed by 10pm and getting up to run around 5:30. I missed red rock all week because to go there I'd need to be in the car by 5:30. I'd like to go there every day next week if I can, but that would mean no going out at all at night, which I guess would be good. I've been putting in my 5mile mornings among the friendly, dedicated Strip running crowd, from Mandalay Bay to Wynn and back again, over the Brooklyn Bridge, past the pyramid and volcano, and under the trees of the Champs Elysees. I rarely feel like running these mornings, but by about 3 miles in it's ok. My times have been creeping slowly faster. Today was my last run before that 1/2 on Sunday.

YAY for going home! I hope you take tomorrow off and CHILL. Molly will be so happy to see you!
You have at least some self-control -- you haven't mentioned the gelato stands in every casino ... dangerous on an expense account!
i'm not a gelato girl. i grew up in Wisconsin, so i'm an ice cream / custard girl. Gelato I can pass on. It's the Sonic two blocks from the office that I have trouble with. Then again, ever since I saw the nutrition facts for Sonic, I've been ok with passing on that too. The last thing I need is 1/2 my daily calories in a single cup.
