i had an amazing run this morning. I was feeling last night's wine and completely not in the mood, but Molly and I do what we do, putting the running garb on before even waking up. Somehow my legs just did their thing this morning and I came home with a 9:37 average over those 5 miles, which includes a few missed stoplights. Checking the equivalents, that is faster than any race I've run. The thing is, though, I wasn't really trying and it didn't feel like a hard effort. I just land at a different place on my foot and push off different and it just happens. Huh. Progress!
Just little wedding details to wrap up now. Jelly beans, baskets, maps. My mom who said she had her hair thingey from her wedding couldn't find it, so I have to find something today. Need to fix my tanline. Nails, facial tomorrow. It's coming together, and I'm trying not to act like a deer in headlights, but it's hard. This is about Ben and my relationship but there are so many other things that seem completely unrelated that need to be attended to. I want to focus on him, not what shape of wine glass is on the tables. I just hope everyone has a good time.
And did I mention that I have a job interview tomorrow? Yeah, I know. It's the only time I was in Chicago that they could schedule me.

your life is so damn exciting and sparkly right now. enjoy every moment. even the hard tedious 'which wine glass' ones. :-)
all my best to you both. ya'll are cute.
The best advice that I can give you right now is to not sweat the details. I know it's a huge cliche, but it's true. Now that you have the major things like food, licenses, dj, venue, attire, and guest list out of the way, there are a flood of minor details that may or may not be done to perfection before the big day; while these things may seem like the most important things in the world to achieve, chances are that only you will notice when the time comes whether or not everything was accomplished that you had in mind. If the shape of that wine glass isn't that important to you now, stop treating it like it'll be important to you then - you'll be far too busy to notice it on Saturday, and as long as there is wine in it, your guests won't be caring either.
My wedding flew by in such a blur that I really didn't get a chance to check out all the stuff I so carefully planned until looking at the photos a month later - all that mattered was my love, my loved ones, and a fun party!
As always, let me know if you need any help lightning the load of things you have left to do - I had 4 minions stuffing gift bags and such the night before ours, I'd be happy to do the same for you with table decorations, etc. if you need it.
Hope your wedding day rocks!
You are turning me off of weddings.
Awesome run Julie. See you CAN do it.
I hope Molly is in the wedding somehow. LOL. If I ever get maried it's gonna be in a park and my dogs will be there. :)
I know your wedding is gonna be awesome and everybody is gonna have a good time. I can't think of any minor detail that could possibly change that--assuming you recover in time from the hangover you'll have tomorrow morning :-).
Wow, when it rains, it pours! Good luck and have fun with this -- it's all you can do now!
