"haven't seen you in a while."
"yeah, i got married."
"congratulations."
the short exchanges with the folks who usually watch Molly and I run made me chuckle. This one was with a man outside the YWCA, but it repeated itself twice more before I finished my first 3 mile run in 1o days. My legs had something to say during the run too- not happy. This was the longest I've taken off since the Morocco trip, but the big difference is that in Morocco we walked and hiked and did things, which we did all of one day on the honeymoon. Meh, happens. It's frustrating, though, relearning my stride. I can run, and I'm carrying myself well and going fast (though I'm not back on the gizmo yet) but it's like I am unsure how long a stride I can handle. Whatever. In time. Who cares, it's not like I have any (running) races in front of me.
But... there's the Palos race sunday. Looks like there are a handful of ladies in my division, which is good. Haven't been on the bike since the Alterra race, so I'm just hoping for the best. Either way, the tent is coming, and we'll have a Half Acre good time.
Meanwhile, nesting for the newlyweds.
