one of these races, a mechanical would cost ben a race. it would be my fault. luckily it probably only cost him 2-3 places. but it still sucks, and it's still scary, and it's hard to swallow.
he wasn't getting his bike into the big ring. bike change, fixed it, and still he couldn't get it to work. he wasn't pushing the lever hard enough or I didn't make it easy enough... either way the lack of easy indexing meant losing ground on the pavement. still inthe $ and out of the points. his hands are all torn up from the bumpy course. 2 to go.
