jingle cross day 1

i think Ben was... 21st? Here's how it went: I stood in the pit and shouted. I think I saw all of one bike go out the whole race, and that was to Sherer. Why? oh, yeah. Cuz he crashed in lap 1 and that crash totally shuffled the deck... almost nobody escaped that double-crash just 1/4 of the way into the first lap and while some folks picked their way up to where they should be racing, some ended up in the wrong groups and totally had no hope. you can guess...

anyway.

Ben was in such a hurry to get away from the race after the finish that his bike was on the roof of the car before I got the stuff from the pit there, and I was forced to wash the bike in the shower at the hotel because I didn't get a chance to use the hose.

What was awesome, though, was the Half Acre riders. Of course. Chris had a rad finish in the beginner race - 22 of at least 50, and Tim went out for his singlespeed race in a speedo. Really, no joke, I had to write his race number on him in sharpie. And Dan totally helped make things happen. We've been getting awesome since we got back from the course and things really just get awesomer. Words can't express... pride, fun, shenanegans. Half Acre love.

Great hanging out with you in the pits Sat it was fun. Mike's crash was crazy, pros flying over the bars all over, but going 23rd to 9th was cool to watch. Hope Sunday smooth for you! Cheers!
