doing nothing is hard

So, Fri-Sun this weekend Ben and I were looking forward to doing nothing. As in, we've traveled nearly every weekend since our wedding, so we're going to park it on the couch and not move ever again. Well... easier said than done. We get stir crazy. Hungry. Thirsty. Bored. So we end up doing things anyway.

Yesterday I decided to break up the monotony by doing battle with our friends in the County Building. Ben walked Molly with me to the loop, and then left me in line. I was successful at getting my task completed but it was a great disappointment in the end, forcing me to compensate by buying dog toys on clearance at old navy. Which lasted about 2 minutes. Molly is not an Old Navy dog, but she sure does like destroying their stuff. We also ordered her a new collar and matching lead, since the year-and-a-half old one is quite worn. Yeah, she's spoiled.

This morning it was warm but pouring rain so I decided to run. I like to run in the rain. Molly and I went to the lakefront and back with a few scenic detours, about 9 miles, and splashed in the puddles and smiled at everyone. Naturally it stopped raining the minute we turned back toward home. My tights weren't made for that, though, and caused serious painful issues in the crotch seams, leading me to find a new use for chamois butter. Ouch.

Now Ben's framing photos and I'm completing some Wifely tasks. We have yet to actually do nothing.
