Lightning and pouring rain foiled my plan of getting back on the bike on Wednesday after work, so I laced up my running shoes for a wet recovery 3 instead. I was terrified. After days of telling myself I was a running failure, I didn't even know if I could make it through three. My socks and shoes felt unfamiliar, soft, and smooshy. I left the gizmo and ipod home, grabbed Molly, and shuffled through it. Threw a few pickups in at the end just to know I still had legs, and I do. I'm excited to run a few faster, shorter distances and to start trusting myself again. Back on the horse.
Yesterday I worked a 16 hour day basically- driving to and from Indy for an 11-7 meeting. I think we all hate our jobs at this point, so I'll spare the details.
This morning, another no-fi 3 at unknown pace and with my brain to provide the music. I somehow made every light, running the mileage straight through-- that never happens. Teammates Erica, Ronit, and I are supposed to be leaving for Stump Farm 12 tonight-- a course I love!-- but with rain and a high of 47 I'm half hoping it gets canceled. Or, I hope they cancel it before we drive 3 hours and get a hotel room... or, never mind, flakesville.

Good Luck this weekend!
fuck using a garmin. like i told you - get thee to a track and run some sprint laps that make you fart and pee and puke a little. use a stop watch and just try. you'll feel amazing. and your speed will p/u. if that's what you want.
Judi said fart and pee. Good idea though. Go sneak onto the track at UIC and kill yourself, you will become so much faster, if not a bit stinkier though.
