Trying to fix all that's wrong takes more than I originally calculated.

It's no secret that I've been sort of burned out lately.

Today I decided it was time to fix it all. I got up to run this morning, feet still aching from yesterday's run, and pulled my new shoes out of the box, whether I've earned them or not. (My two other pair are both over 300 mi now, one of them pushing 400, which is probably why my feet ache.) Pulled on a new pair of running knickers (no, not that kind of knickers). Fixed my HRM last night with a new battery and a little sandpaper, and put that on with my gizmo that has somehow returned to beeping-hood. And off I went, determined that it was going to break the cycle. A good few miles. Then, 4 mi in, the worst side stitch I've had since I started running. I think I've gotten only 3-4 side stitches this whole time, nearly three years.

I signed up to race bikes twice this weekend, though I haven't been on a bike in a week. I got word that a relative passed on this morning, and it's sort of left me swimming in a puddle of guilt, since I really didn't have any relationship with him at all. All plans are up in the air, and I'll be checking out to join the family in Eagle River, and bikes don't even matter, family is what matters, and I too often put bikes before family, so maybe I won't be racing this weekend after all.

I'm sorry to hear about your relative passing. It'll be a tough weekend for you no matter what you do.
I'm glad to hear your gizmo is beeping again!
