Coming home from vacation is never easy. Getting back to workouts is particularly hard, though, when your belly has grown inches and has a mind of its own.
Our last two days in Lima were pretty chill. We avoided the city center (that we didn't like the first time) and stayed in the beach suburb of Barranco, a darling old neighborhood of colonial mansions that used to have its own streetcar. We spent two days wandering up the beach to Miraflores and bumming around eating and shopping. We also went to a museum that had 70,000+ pieces of pottery from Chavin, Chimu, Moche, and Inca civilizations along with a separate gallery of "adult" pottery that was pretty funny. We had an overpriced snack/drink at the cool museum cafe too. That was about it, though. Just a relaxing few days.
We got home Saturday and went straight to a BBQ, and then Sunday I hopped on my bike for a 4 hour ride with Erica and Audrey. Audrey took this photo of my butt. We went to the Three Floyds brewery and only got rained on whilst in Indiana. Then this morning I set out for a run, which hurt. Managed 3. Going for 4 tomorrow.
Midwife appointment today, too. Things are getting a little more serious, with talk of cord blood and hospital tours and such. Tonight starts 12 weeks of Bradley child birth classes. 7-9pm, hope I can stay awake.
