Women's racing: Doing it right.

While we're talking about what's wrong with women's racing, let's not forget that some people do it right.

Take, for example, the Tour of America's Dairyland.

This race series, June 17-27 in Wisconsin, is serious about women's racing. They started with a springtime (yes, before race seasons started!) beginner women's racing clinic. And, not only does every race have a separate women's 1/2/3 and women's 3/4 field, they're nearly matching the women's 1/2/3 payout to the men's.

But wait, there's more!

Women racers get a goodie bag stuffed with items from local department stores Boston Store and Younker's.

Seriously, amazing. I've heard of at least one woman racer passing on the Nature Valley Grand Prix to instead opt to support this series that's so supportive of women. If you're in the area, show some love to a promoter that really has gone all the way to show that women's racing counts. I really hope fields are huge. I only wish I could go out there and ride!
