better.

My bag showed up at 11:30pm. Enough of a wake-up call that I slept through Red Rock time this AM and ran the strip instead. I like running the strip fine, it's the overpasses that really annoy me. The big corners have them and a five mile run includes about 8 of em. I can't run up/down stairs cuz I always end up tripping, so I come home with my gizmo saying I ran pokey slow when I know I didn't. Oh, bother.

I was thinking about an article I read in this weekend's NYT Play olympic special. Deena Kastor's resting heart rate was listed as 26, and bodyfat something like 4-8%. Sarah Hammer's resting heart rate was down as in the low 60's I believe. Crazy... both how fit those girls are AND how insane Kastor is. Wish I could find that article online. Left it on the airplane.

The honeymoon is now locked, booked, and final. We'll be on the beach in less than three weeks.

A guy I swam with in high school had a resting heart rate of 25-30. He scared the crap out of a nurse during a checkup by not telling her it was normal. She checked him 3 or 4 times and was ready to call an er doc when he finally told her. Needless to say, he was a much better swimmer than me, National Champ and such.
