ok, i was going to run 10 this morning, but sleep had its grips on me and by the time I wriggled free it was too late. Molly and I ran 3, then stopped home and loaded her backpack filled with food onto her, then ran her to daycare. She'll stay the night there tonight. The lady at the desk greeted us with, "That's the dog that can jump over the walls!" Yes, it is.
I love to run in the rain but I hate the 4' long puddles at every crosswalk. About a mile in I decided I'd just run through them, but I didn't realize how frigid they were. My feet were unhappy with their cold wetness. I saw one other runner out there this morning and he gave me a nasty look, probably since it's not hard-core if everyone's doing it, and the guy looked like he was out there trying to be hard-core.
Met Audrey for breakfast at Lou Mitchell's. Couldn't resist the apple and cheese omlette, but was sorely disappointed. The place is not cheap, but everything comes with free donut holes and free milk duds and free ice cream, so that considered, maybe it's not so bad?
Today, Amtrak to Milwaukee today with a bottle of champagne and a beautiful husband for company, then the eve with my folks and the day tomorrow back in Chicagoland with Ben's family. Travel sucks but Amtrak will always make things better.

i may be planning a trip up there in jan or feb to see my g/f. we'll have to get together for a run or something....
