scenic world

The snow started falling 2 mi into my run this morning, and I was lucky enough to get the 3 done with before things got slick. The walk to work this morning was that precious, rare quiet we get in the city that happens only when snow's in the air. Even the little angel statue, the only "art" on my commute, was happy for that.

I was underdressed for the wind out there this morning, though, and the cold hitting me gave me those cramps in my abs that suck. Great way to kick off a program, right? Ugh.

I listened to Beirut on the way to work this morning. Immediately it summoned a travel memory- I must have listened to this album on the bus between Dahab and Nuweiba because I saw the mountains of Sinai rising from the flat desert floor and a twisting road ahead. Now Nuweiba's just miles from a war zone.
