Deep breath. Sigh.

I did a workout last night of sprint intervals where the next one didn't start until I got my heart rate under 114. It was a new experience for me- trying to go from all-out to recovery-low. I struggled at first to find somewhere to do the workout- the path was clogged with people, Northerly Island also. I found the Soldier Field parking lot unoccupied and had the place all to myself. After sprinting up from a near-stop, I'd play this little game of "how fast can I get my HR down" that featured me trying to use my breathing to drop the numbers faster. Deep breath. Sigh. The funniest part was, when I was 1 bpm away from the target I'd get excited for the interval and it would go back up again. Luckily the numbers distracted from the hurt my legs were going through.

Still on the plan. Still doing doubles. Getting tired, but keeping on.

I haven't been on trail since early July. That's a month ago. Sure, I was out of the country for two weeks, but it's still a long time. Looking at the calendar, I'm not even sure when I'll get out again... unless it's wedged in on a weekday. Ugh. This is no way to stop being a fraidy cat.
