Talk about planning ahead. These things fill up so often that it's better to just come right out and commit when the chance is there. I dreamed of running this race on my 30th birthday but the hills kept me away. Two marathons later, and two years later, I'll give it a shot on my last day as a 31-year-old. SUPER HILLY, so I'm not expecting to do anything more than finish inside the 6 hour time limit. I'll be happy under 5:15. I'll be quite happy under 5:00.
Anyone got leads on parking garages that allow runners to train?

Go run the doubletrack on the East side at Palos, or head out to Cary and run the March Madness course. Careful not to overdo the hill training tho -- I ended my marathoning career by injuring my achilles training in Cary.
i run mornings though, so it really has to be near the city... or i'll be late for work!
