Fall always makes me sad. For some reason, I just don't handle it well. I cope by taking on projects- lots of them- and stressing over the details. Luckily, one of them comes to fruition tonight. That will at least clear one thing out of my brain.
So, with Ben home full-time now and my doctor nixing the running, my morning schedule-- three years solid and unchanged-- has been turned on its head. I've been getting on the trainer instead, which sucks. I loaned out my rollers a year ago and I'm looking forward to getting them back tonight, since I've always preferred them (the resistance-rollers) to a trainer. I'm also switching to Bob's Red Mill for breakfast, which I can actually find time to cook because I'm sitting just feet away instead of running miles away, and I love the stuff.
In the evening I get home from work and sit down on the couch and do more work, caving to the West Coast schedule of my main projects right now. Then, Ben and I veg out.
I would die for a day on trail right now. But it just isn't in the cards, due to weather and schedule and other nonsense. The kneesocks I'm wearing today seem to have a tablespoon of silt stuck inside the toe. I guess that's left over from the weekend's races.
