Back at the good old Courtyard hotel, with the mini-fridge and the 5am shift change. Last time, I'm told.
Elections are fun in the unionland because it's the culmination of months/years of work. They fly more staff in, so it has a kind of frantic yet festive feeling. And we give away lots of purple stuff, too, which includes my head-scratcher of a favorite: weepuls. People love these things. I don't get them.
Ben and I have been on this great health food kick lately, and last week he stocked up on fresh organic deliciousness and the requisite ingredients we should have always had, like tahini and miso and nutriyeast. Anyway, I'm sure you can imagine that having half of the produce-eating household leave just days later for a week ain't a good thing, so he packaged it all up for me and we said a little prayer as we stuffed it in plastic bags on top of my work clothes and checked the suitcase. The stuff all made it, and my little hotel room fridge is just completely confused by this completely unknown goodness inside it. Like, I had a watercress spread and tomato with parmasan pita sandwich for lunch. Nom.
I'm so lucky. Ben's so good to me.

You need packages of instant grits. Health food baby!
Now, Chris... a good Southerner never eats INSTANT grits.
good job. glad it made it through.
I hope you're able to pull aside the daily food $ ration as an extra bonus too!
