a quiet morning at home.

Today Ben and I are headed to the Beer Under Glass event - part of Chicago Craft Beer week- so Elliot went to Grandma and Auntie's house instead of staying home. Ben remarked that since Elliot was leaving in the car at 7am with him, I should have a "quiet morning at home with a relaxing breakfast."

Moms out there, please say it with me: ha.

Since it took a while to get the boys out of the door, I didn't have time for my usual 5 mile run, so I did a hard 3 miler with intervals instead. (It's amazing how much better my stride is without the stroller. It's been a while.) Then I stuffed diapers, vacuumed, packed up some stuff we have for sale, packed away clothes E outgrew, handwashed the wool soakers and hung them to dry, and tidied E's room... leaving me just enough time to shower and jet to work just 20 minutes late. Relaxing. Breakfast? Umm.

(This isn't to say that Ben is anything but awesome. He'll point out that I choose to be the busybody I am. I would point out that it all has to get done at some point, right?)

Anywho... here comes another weekend of not riding bikes! I'm working in Milwaukee on Sat and on Sun we have superfun plans to hang with babies. Some day... gonna keep trying.

I'm not a mom, but even I said "HA" to that comment. The BF is always saying when I have a bonus day off or "Extra" time to relax and enjoy the morning. Um, did you not see that pile of laundry, the dust on the floor, the packing needing to get done, the dish, etc. Relaxing for me happens while I'm sleeping. I'm like you, busy busy busy, I get bored just sitting there "relaxing". Get it done, feel better that it is done! Glad you made it out for a good run too!
