things i did not do.

Most blogs are about things people do. Today, I give you things I did not do:
- Race at Stump Farm.
- Race at Winona Lake.
- Ride my bike at all, leaving a total of 90 min total logged on it.
- Run since Fri.

This weekend was a bummer, weather-wise. But I learned something! (That's the silver lining.) I learned that bad weather is a golden excuse when you have a baby to look after. And that I can't just keep using it as an excuse or I will never get out there. So next time it's 45 degrees and raining I'm going to suck it up, put some extra layers on Elliot, and just go. Because the worst thing on earth is bumming around the house and thinking to myself, "I should have gone," and then going to work on Monday morning and thinking to myself, "I should have gone," and then realizing it's mid-May and I've ridden trail once and my running is getting slower and I'm not losing weight any more.

The inconvenience and difficulty of dressing and dealing with Elliot would have been way easier than dealing with this internal dialogue. I'm so self-punishing.

Elliot is going to crawl any minute now. He crawls backward for now, getting terribly frustrated. He prefers walking. He walks "assisted" but will go clear across the apartment in search of a favorite person or toy or dog.

Dude, I'm still having that internal dialogue and I'm still pissy about it. Next time I'm going... consequences be damned.

Totally understand that feeling. I was having an internal debate about going to FRG on Sunday. I had the internal debate about the Saturday races back in April when I had to RSVP to the event I ended up going to. I was almost relieved the weather was bad Saturday because I didn't feel like I was missing as much.
