(Photo from here.) So yeah. With Elliot toddling around and Ben riding a motorcycle and a mountain of laundry to conquer, there hasn't been much time left to pursue... well, pursuits. I realized in the middle of a gorgeous Saturday last weekend that we were spending walking around the neighborhood and fighting to get E to nap that I really should have gone out to trails... but didn't even think of it. I just don't even consider it an option any more. I don't know why.
So it's no big surprise that at the Meltdown people I've usually finished in front of handily finished in front of me, and that when the option arose to ride the CX relay I decided floundering around wasn't worth the $40 cost.
What has been happening, though, is running. Cool, crisp, no pressure morning runs-- 5 mornings in a row last week, 4 mornings in a row of hilly Wisconsin runs the week before, and hitting my mileage goals almost all month. I absolutely loved my time running in Eau Claire and really put in some good efforts. I rewarded myself with a shiny new pair of (made in the USA!) running shoes this morning and it felt great. Molly, Elliot, and I make a great team. I may not be running fast but I'm really enjoying it and if I can find a nearby/affordable half marathon in mid/late September or October, I'll definitely be on top of that.
And planning is underway for the Weaning Trip- my post-12 mos escape to Vegas with the girls. Can't wait. I love Vegas.
