summer flies by

I had a good run yesterday morning. The time change plus the elephants upstairs had me up at 4:45, so I ran from the hotel past the space needle and EMP, through the Pike Place market, down to the bay. It was at a nice clip-- my first proof since spring that I can run something other than 11:00+ miles-- and the air was crisp. Sure, the whole city stank of fish, but I feel like pointing that out makes me even more of a tourist.

I'm burned out on travel.

Seeing as how I can count my times on trail this summer on one hand, I'm really not looking forward to racing-- any racing-- and I dread the meltdown. I'm already coming up with excuses for my either no-show or DFL. I intend to blame: sharks, the Republicans, the color pink, horseshoes, and Japanese beetles. This list will only grow.

But the baby! Oh, have I mentioned the baby?
