Summertime, and the living is easy (easier?)

Yesterday morning I went to run trail before work. I was greeted by a chained-closed fence, locking me out of 6mi of urban trail at the Wesselman Woods. I attempted to jump the fence and out of nowhere a ranger/cop/authority figure in uniform appeared. Nature, he said, is closed. I ran the short "nature walk" outside the fence instead, .75 mi roundtrip, 4 times. Who the hell closes nature?

Had a great work event (every media outlet in town showed up!) in an orchard and drove home a gallon of cider and enough peaches to make a pie. Today starts the 3-day weekend. You know things are going to truly be weekend-ish when the following is the agenda:
- ride singletrack with Ben somewhere. We haven't decided where yet. We'll leave in an hour or so, though.
- maybe take care of grocery shopping and laundry, but that's hardly pressing.
- sit on the couch a lot.
