The Return of BLOOD MOUNTAIN.

(Photo: Audrey) I'm afraid to say that Ben's birthday celebration may have injured a few teammates. But it was totally worth it.

Back in the day, before we were "adults" - let's say 2007? - we had a tradition of racing brakeless crappy bmx bikes slalom-style down sledding hills, called BLOOD MOUNTAIN. There's evidence here, here, and here. It's been a few years, but we needed it back. Not enough blood n' grass stains.

So to celebrate Ben's birthday, we sat on top of the sledding hill, rolled down it, drank, sorta watched the crit, threw things, giggled. We were there till 10:30, a late night for the Popper family. It was superfun. Can't wait for the repeat.
