4 weeks.

Yesterday morning, Amy, Sarah, and I hit the trails at Palos. It's gorgeous out right now and the trails are dry and fast and have that intoxicating smell of fall leaves. After the frustration of running being a struggle, being on the bike felt natural. It didn't feel like work at all, I really just enjoyed myself. Not hauling all that extra weight made me feel faster, whether I was or not. Nearly 2 hours on trail and my first time away from Elliot for 3 whole hours-- Ben even fed him! Finished the morning by meeting Ben and Elliot at Publican for a bloody mary and things were pretty awesome.

Elliot's starting to have trouble sleeping at night. It's been three days now of fewer than 4 hours of sleep a night. He eats, falls asleep, but then wakes up every 20 minutes or so to just scream a little, and then falls back to sleep. He soothes himself but not until Ben and I are both awake. It's frustrating, but then again, millions of moms have probably endured this sort of thing.

Oh, and Friday night we went to the BMX track in Hobart, IN. Ben got all happy and sweaty, and Elliot ate and slept. It was fun hanging out with Suzie and Audrey and cheering on the 8-year-olds on their 12" wheels with their huge helmets.
